Cape Cod Community College (4Cs) proudly serves as an official Training Institute for the Office of Emergency Medical Services, offering a comprehensive Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course that can jumpstart your career, enhance your resume, or pave the way to becoming a paramedic or healthcare professional.

EMTs are the unsung heroes of emergency response. They are the first to arrive at the scene, making their role critical in saving lives. A well-trained and educated EMT is an invaluable asset to any community, and the demand for their skills is ever-growing. EMTs find themselves working in diverse, thrilling environments, including hospitals, ambulances, and public events.

Your Destination for an EMT Certificate!

In our intensive course, you will acquire essential skills, including:

- Basic life-saving techniques

- CPR training and certification

- First-aid proficiency

- Rapid and efficient response to medical emergencies

Upon successfully completing the program, you will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam.

Convenient Locations and Flexible Scheduling

Registration for the Fall 2025 EMT Class opens:

  • Currently enrolled 4Cs students begins March 31, 2025 
  • General Open registration for all students begins on April 14, 2025   
    • Day EMT Class – Starts Tuesday 9/2/25 - Class Meets Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 10am-2pm

    • Night EMT Class - Starts Wednesday 9/3/25 - Class Meets - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 5:30pm-9:30pm  

To enroll in a Spring 2025 EMT Class at Cape Cod Community College, please visit the following link and complete the registration form. At the bottom of the screen choose degree/certificate seeking student or guest registration.  If you are not a current student and are only looking to take the EMT course, choose guest registration.   

How to Register

Enrolling in our EMT course is straightforward. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Download the Course Registration Form from our website.

  2. Complete the form, ensuring you fill in all relevant information.

  3. In the "ADD Course" section, choose your preferred location:

    • For West Barnstable: Select Course Number EMS 101 – Section 063 – Course EMT

    • For Martha’s Vineyard: Choose Course Number EMS 101 – Section 064 – Course EMT

  4. Sign the form electronically and save it to your device.

  5. Email the completed form to registration@mldad.com. If you're unable to sign the form electronically, simply send it as an attachment, granting permission to register you for the EMS class.

Approximate Resident Tuition and Fees

Tuition: $250/Credit Hour - 5 Credit Course $1,250

Fees: Health Science Fee- $37/Credit Hour- 5 Credit Course $185

State Practical Testing Fee: $135 (This fee pays for the state certification exam held at 4C’s after successful completion of course.  Fee is often charged as an extra fee at other locations - practical testing is included as part of our EMT Course) (CPR Certification included at no extra charge)

Textbook: $125.97 and Platinum Planner $52

Total Approximate In-State Cost: $1,687.97
